My Journey

From Saltillo to solutions.

Engineer, medical device specialist, enterprise tech seller, photographer. Here's how one led to the next, and what each chapter taught me.

  1. Chapter 01 Saltillo, Mexico

Roots in a family of photographers

I grew up in Saltillo, Coahuila, where cameras and small businesses were part of everyday life. My grandfather was a photographer, and my dad still runs a printing and photography business there. Before engineering I spent two years in music school playing the cello. Without knowing it, I was learning to pay attention to light, detail, and timing.

    Highlights

    • Learned photography and design from my dad, and the family craft stuck
    • Two years of music school as a cellist before switching to engineering

    What I picked up

    • An eye for composition
    • Attention to detail
    • Entrepreneurial instincts

  2. Chapter 02 Monterrey · 2011

    Engineering where medicine meets technology

I studied Biomedical Engineering at Universidad de Monterrey, with a minor in Accounting & Finance. I wanted to build medical technology, and that goal shaped how I think: understand how the system works first, then figure out what it needs.

    Highlights

    • BS in Biomedical Engineering, minor in Accounting & Finance (2011)

    What I picked up

    • Systems thinking
    • Technical fundamentals
    • Financial literacy
  3. Chapter 03 Northern Mexico · 2015–2016

Close to where the technology gets used

My first job was managing technology for a hospital. From there I moved into medical devices with Alcon as an Advanced Technology Specialist, launching new surgical platforms and working side by side with surgeons, sometimes right in the operating room.

    Highlights

    • Grew total sales 35% and finished above 110% of annual quota, generating $1.3M in revenue
    • Grew Premium IOL market share 42%
    • Launched the Panoptix and Centurion platforms in Northern Mexico

    What I picked up

    • Clinical workflows
    • Technical training
    • Product launches
  4. Chapter 04 United States · 2017–2020

A move I planned for years

In 2017 I moved to the United States, a plan I had mapped out step by step. Back in medical devices with Orthofix, I trained neuro and orthopedic surgeons on artificial cervical disc implantation and led first cases in the OR, where there is no margin for error.

    Highlights

    • Trained neuro and orthopedic surgeons on M6-C artificial cervical disc implantation and led first-in-OR cases
    • Completed the 340+ hour Orthopedics: Spine Program at Medical Sales College (2019)

    What I picked up

    • High-stakes technical enablement
    • Hospital, GPO, and IDN negotiations
    • Precision under pressure
  5. Chapter 05 ThoughtSpot · 2021–2024

Starting over in software, from SDR

When I moved into software, I started at the beginning, as an SDR at ThoughtSpot. I learned the platform deeply, joined AEs and SEs on early technical discovery, and moved into account management, where I grew accounts by finding new use cases instead of pushing upsells.

    Highlights

    • As an SDR, sourced 8 new-logo opportunities that closed for about $896K in ARR
    • Drove 62% ARR growth in my first 12 months managing about 60 accounts
    • President's Club and Best Account Manager of the Year (2023)

    What I picked up

    • Technical discovery
    • Executive business reviews
    • Use-case development
  6. Chapter 06 ThoughtSpot · 2024–2026

    The de facto solutions engineer

As an Enterprise Account Executive for the Southeast US and Latin America, I often worked without a dedicated SE, so I led the architecture conversations, scoped embedded analytics deployments, and advised on cloud data warehouse strategy myself. I earned ThoughtSpot's Professional, Cloud Architect, and Administrator certifications and mentored new AEs on technical solutioning.

    Highlights

    • Ranked #2 companywide at 264% of quota (FY2026 year to date)
    • Closed a $5M two-year agreement, the largest deal in my segment
    • $17.6M in ARR across 136 deals over my time at ThoughtSpot

    What I picked up

    • Architecture scoping
    • Embedded analytics
    • CDW alignment
    • Spanish-language executive engagement
  7. Chapter 07 Unframe · 2026

Agentic AI, starting from a blank map

In July 2026 I joined Unframe, an AI agents company, in a brand-new territory. The work starts with technical discovery: understanding how a company's data and AI efforts fit together, then showing where agentic AI and a unified knowledge layer can help. On my own time I build too, from a Python photo culler to MCP servers that connect my wearable data to AI.

    Highlights

    • Building enterprise pipeline from zero inherited accounts across Retail, CPG, Financial Services, and Energy
    • Designed multi-threaded account plans across 8+ stakeholders at a Fortune 500 distributor

    What I picked up

    • Agentic AI
    • Enterprise knowledge fabric
    • Python
    • MCP
  8. Chapter 08 Next

The next chapter is closer to the product

Every role so far has pointed the same way: I do my best work as the person who can go deep technically and turn it into something people can use. Next, I want to keep moving closer to the product, where solution design, technical depth, and AI meet. I'm still shaping exactly what that looks like, and I'd love to hear what you're building.

    What I picked up

    • Solution design
    • Technical discovery
    • AI
    • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
